No. 264 - Rod Marsh breaks the wicketkeeping record ... pity about the match result

Rod Marsh: This was at the historic 1981 Headingley Test. It was a big thrill breaking the world record for the number of dismissals by a keeper. I knew before the game began how many dismissals I had to make to break the record, although I can't recall that number now [four]. The catch wasn't difficult, but it was a super-important wicket [Ian Botham]. I was thankful that the edge came off my great mate, Dennis Lillee. He was a great bowler and provided me with plenty of edges. I guess it was a relief to break the record, although I would gladly have given that up for a win in the match.
